Coaching Process
Some of the most common questions I get are "so, how does your coaching work?" or "what's your process?" Hopefully what I describe below – and on the other pages of my site – helps to answer these questions.
Schedule a Discovery Session
The first step is to schedule a Discovery Session on Zoom. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about my coaching approach, and for me to develop an understanding of what you want from coaching. I’ll also likely offer additional resources and possibly a referral or two. You’ll get more clarity about whether coaching is right for you, and together we’ll start to get a sense of how we would partner together.
Coaching Program Design
Following our initial consultation, I develop a program design based on your needs and goals. Because it will take time for us to identify what assumptions, thinking, and behaviors you will need to change, and because it will take time to implement those changes and embed them in your daily life, coaching programs typically last a minimum of three to six months. The design of your program will evolve collaboratively as we work together, so that it best meets your needs.
I work on a package basis – not by the hour – so that I am able to work from a place of generosity and make sure your needs are met. My packages typically include regular (weekly or bi-weekly) sessions, as-needed ad-hoc sessions, and phone and email support between sessions, and they typically with a 3-month commitment – because change takes at least that long. I work with you to develop a payment plan that is easy for us both.

Horizontal development is more focused on self-management skills, more basic leadership competencies, and building more advanced skills in managing and leading others.
